Principal's Message

Mr. Sean Graham

Let me use this opportunity to welcome you to the virtual environment of Maggotty High School. Consistent with the school’s motto, “striving for excellence through hard work and discipline” we are excited about having our own school’s web platform, as we seek to engage students and stakeholders in the 21st century.

The vision of the institution is “To be the premier secondary educational institution where students will access the academic, technical/vocational, and life skills necessary for becoming role models and nation builders”, and as the school positions itself in this regard, I hope that this app will be a vehicle for positive engagement.

Stay tuned for new and exciting development as we continue to inculcate positive values and attitudes in the nation’s children, while providing them with opportunities for academic progress.

Thank You.

Sean Graham (Mr.)

Sean O’Casey Graham is the consummate professional.  He received his teacher training at the Church Teachers’ College, where he was the recipient of the prestigious Vaughn Award for the student who best typified the teaching profession; he was President of the Student Body.  He is an honours graduate of Shortwood Teachers’ College where he earned his Bachelors’ Degree in History Education.  He also holds an MBA from the Caribbean Graduate School of Theology.

Mr. Graham has served in a number of leadership capacities, including Pioneer for the Knoxwood Youth and Community Association; President of the Men’s Ministry at First Assembly of God, Mandeville; Vice President of the National Boys’ Brigade; Boys’ Brigade Supervisor at his local church; and active member of the Inter School Christian Fellowship’s Passion and Purity.  Through various Christian organizations, he volunteers and serves in Boys’ Homes, hospitals, infirmaries and Prisons, and is a well sought after motivational speaker.

Mr. Graham is currently serving as the Provisional Principal of Maggotty High School since his promotion in June 2015 having successfully completed the Aspiring Principals’ Programme.

This avid reader has also been influenced greatly by the materials and opinions of John Maxwell, an American Leadership expert, who posits the view that “everything rises and falls on leadership.”

Sean believes that school leaders should revolutionize education and its effective delivery to students, therefore Principals should have the capacity to establish a shared vision and value systems for the school they lead. He aspires to be an extraordinary school leader in order to inspire and motivate members of staff and students to achieve their life’s purpose and contribute positively to the shaping of the nation.
